Taiji (太极拳 Tàijí Quán) Qigong (气功)

Since ancient times, the concept of cultivating oneself has influenced many facets of Chinese culture including art, poetry, medicine, martial arts, cooking and spirituality. Through diligent practice, discipline and patience, one’s heart-intent 心意 (xīnyì) and mind merge together, and life becomes more spontaneous or effortless 無為 (wúwéi). When one gets in touch with this state, true contentment and health are abundant. Tai Chi focuses on the principles of Yin and Yang balance, and the Five-Animal energy movements of Qigong inspired by animal movement in the natural world. We will learn a simple self-help technique to open bodily meridian lines to strengthen our immune systems, an opportunity to open, engage and cultivate each individual in their own search of health and growth.
